Rev. Chris Hansen

I was born Rasmus Christian Hansen in Minneapolis, MN in 1943. At that time my father was a student at Northwestern Theological Seminary. Thus, I became a seminarian at birth. Following graduation from seminary in 1970, I was called to Bethany-Elim, Ivanhoe; Bethany, Arco, MN. From there I was called to Augustana Lutheran Church, St. James, MN. In 1981 I was called to serve Lutheran Services of New England as a vice-president of Development and president of Housing. From there my family moved to Iowa and I was called as pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church of Burlington, IA.

In 1993 I began serving as Senior Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hixson, TN. Finally, I retired in 2006 and spent the following two years, travelling, building a home in Ooltewah, TN and caring for my health.

During my retirement, we have travelled visiting children in Boston and Texas, friends in Minnesota and vacationing in Alaska, Florida, Tennessee and South Carolina. Norma and I were married in 1966 upon graduation from Wittenburg University and have raised three sons. To date we have three grandchildren and enjoy their birthdays as well as special events in their lives.

Prior to retirement and since, Norma and I have enjoyed travel to family and friends as well as to special places including Europe, Israel and the Caribbean. In addition, I have attempted to work on my golf game. Norma is getting back into the game and hopefully we will be able to enjoy this sport together.
