Meet Our Pastor
Bob Stelter serves as the lead pastor at Faith Lutheran Church, guiding the community in worship, teaching, and everyday faith. He’s passionate about helping people connect with Jesus in real, practical ways and building a church where everyone feels welcomed and known.
His Heart for People
Pastor Bob has a heart for people and a deep desire to make faith feel approachable and real. His path into ministry wasn’t about having everything figured out; it was about following a calling to walk alongside others as they grow in their relationship with Christ. That perspective shapes the way he leads today.
He believes church should be a place where people can show up as they are, ask honest questions, and find genuine community. Whether he’s preaching on a Sunday morning or having a one-on-one conversation, Pastor Bob focuses on connecting Scripture to everyday life in a way that’s clear and meaningful.
What matters most to him is helping people take their next step in faith, no matter where they’re starting from. He cares deeply about building relationships, encouraging others, and creating a church culture that reflects love, grace, and service. For Pastor Bob, ministry is less about programs and more about people walking through life together, growing stronger in faith along the way.
Meet Pastor Bob
I’d love to invite you to come and experience Faith Lutheran Church for yourself. Whether you’ve been part of a church for years or you’re just starting to explore faith, there’s a place for you here. You don’t need to have everything figured out. Just come as you are. I’d be glad to meet you, hear your story, and walk alongside you in whatever step you’re taking next.

Pastor Bob
Lead Pastor
Though he was raised on 60s pop, 70s classic rock and hardcore country like Merle and the Possum, Pastor Bob loves opera. He supports and attends the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.
Pastor Bob’s joy is found at roadside barbecue stands, dive bars and mom and pop soul food joints, the sketchier the better, though he has learned to steer clear of gas station sushi.
Pastor Stelter is one of the few pastors in Knoxville serving the same congregation over twenty years. He has been the senior pastor of Faith Lutheran Church since 2000. His longevity is a sign of congregational success and support.
